Life Science: Change Over Time
Change Over Time
The students will explore how fossils provide evidence that many species that once inhabited Earth have now become extinct. They will study how changes in the environment or human intervention can result in changes in the characteristics of a population, which are passed on to succeeding generations. Then they will discover how variation and natural selection have resulted in the evolution of new species. Vocabulary include terms such as; adaptation, artificial selection, niche, evolution, extinction, fossils, genes, mutation, natural selection, paleontologist, population, species, and traits.
