Life Science: Plants
Students are fascinated by growth, particularly seed germination, but too often their excitement vanishes as soon as a seedling breaks the ground. The various hands-on activities found in the Plants units will nurture student's enthusiasm as they examine in detail the complete life cycle of a plant. Working with Wisconsin Fast Plants, which germinate, mature, and go to seed within a 40 day period, students plant seeds and watch seedlings emerge. Students learn that plants need nutrients from the soil, as well as water and light to thrive. By the end of this unit, you will have provided your students with a complete picture of germination, growth and development, pollination, and seed production.
